Sleeping was the absolute worst for someone like Alex. Being an empath, vampiric or not, meant that no matter what, Alex could feel everything. During the day when he was awake and could focus, Alex could just block it out, ignore the desire to find the nearest person and take his fill of of their feelings, their desires. When he was asleep, he had absolutely no control over everyone's feelings rushing in and overtaking his mind as dreams twisted into nightmares and nightmares back to dreams on a whim.

It helped to have Jordan next to him, a soothing, familiar mind to help make a shield around Alex's raw nerve of a mind. Tonight was a bad night and not even his boyfriend laying next to him could stop the emotional onslaught he felt. Tossing and turning, he pushed himself up against Jordan in his sleep until there was no more bed and he pushed Jordan off accidentally, waking up the moment he felt the pain from his boyfriend.

"Damn it," he murmured as he ran his hands through his hair and looked in the direction where he knew Jordan lay on the floor. "You okay down there or do I have to send in search and rescue to bring you back up?"

Obviously, for a garage job there was less involved in looking proper for the day. That aside, Jordan just enjoyed the ritual of getting prettied up and this was no except. There was never a point to not looking good or otherwise ignoring one's own self-care. If you didn't focus on yourself first, how would you ever be able to focus on someone else as well? Regardless, they both finished up and moved to Alex at the veiled invitation, black half coming up from behind to wrap his arms around Alex's waist and place his head on his shoulder while the white came up from the other side and leaned into him curiously to see what exactly he was working on.

While Jordan did cook for himself a lot before meeting Alex, having Alex blossom under the challenge of making things without such a staple food meant Jordan had gotten a bit rusty. Jordan had never really eaten meat and never intended to give it a try. It had nothing to do with health or lifestyle or any of that, however, just that meat was a particularly gross and nasty feeling that made it terrible for food.

"We'll never be done," the white half said with amusement. The black one then added, "But we'd be more than willing to play with you, too. As you learned earlier."
