His first reaction was to tense up against the extra contact. The idea of helping him out aside, Robin was married and even Peter was aware of this fact. It was as obvious as the bracelet around her wrist and one of the beacons to her fame was being a married working woman running a successful company. Here she was, dealing with a nobody loser she had met weeks ago at the party of a mutual friend because he was having a meltdown over a broken dish. It was all pushing him toward something, and even Peter wasn't sure what until he started to squirm. Hands rotating to free them from her grasp, he twisted his torso to try and gain some of the upper hand. Getting absolutely cornered by someone who had no place in his world, trying to help him out, was just not something he could comprehend right now.

"You make it sound—" He huffed, finally bringing his gaze back down to her to search her expression, try to find something he could use to maybe get rid of this coiling feeling in his gut. "It can't be that easy once you know the problem. Nothing's ever that easy."
