He was definitely awake and has been the entire time Shannon was out. If he had been out much longer, Eli would have resorted to pacing around the room to distract his mind from the boredom and fleeting focus his mind had at this time. Shifting himself so that he was turned towards Shannon, he reached over and grabbed his arm lightly.

"Hey there. Feel better?" His voice was trying for gentle, but there was a manic edge to it that was normally only found whenever Eli pulled an all nighter and had gone a little loopy in the meanwhile. The extent of how bad he was definitely wasn't obvious quite yet, but it would be soon enough.
