Eli didn't mind having Lacey follow him around. She was a dog and that was what dogs did. At her curiosity over the sketchbook, he put it near her nose so that she could have a sniff at it and examine it. "It's nothing for you, Lace," he said to her, perfectly happy to chat up a dog.

When he finally disposed of the sketchbook, he went to grab cleaning supplies and looked around the open areas of the house. He was going to clean the place up while Shannon was asleep mostly because his mind wouldn't settle down and cleaning usually helped with that. Hopefully, Shannon wouldn't mind when he woke up.
