The sudden freeing of his limbs took Matheus off guard enough that he had to hide his stumble into a somewhat clumsy motion to pet Lacey. Her tail had gone back to wagging sometime in the last few minutes and she was definitely pleased that the two seemed to be paying her no small amount of attention in the middle of their conversation. With a deep breath, Matheus stood.
