Walking out, Eli noticed Lacey over by Matheus and slightly altered his game plan. He sat down next to Matheus and without even a glance or any movement towards him, he paralyzed the majority of his body, allowing him to still move his eyes and speak. Leaning forward, he reached over to pet Lacey and rub her ears affectionately.

"You walked in on us," he started, his tone edging towards cheerful. Eli still didn't look over at him, acting as if he didn't exist and more like he was talking to the dog than the man next to him.
