This was nice, just being here like this with Shannon. Or it would be if the shift from the scene wasn't making Eli's thoughts scatter like paper in the wind. The moment Shannon went to sleep, he would deal with the distraction in the other room and then finally get the chance to work on his own mind and settle it down into something close to normal. For now, he's just going to deal with making sure Shannon gets enough to drink and get him to sleep.

He pulled his finger away from his lips and grabbed a full water bottle from the bag, popping the cap open with his teeth before putting the bottle against Shannon's lips for him to drink. "Here you go," he said warmly, squeezing Shannon's hand gently as he spoke. "Drink up."
