The first thing Eli does is remove the chain connecting the restraints to each other and the belt so that Shannon could use his hands without issue. It would definitely help him calm down a little bit more while Eli tried talking to him and fighting through the haze in his mind. Letting Shannon continue to panic would only make things worse in the long run and right now, all Eli wanted to do was make sure he was safe and away from Matheus.
"I know. That's what I'm trying to do for you. Let me take you somewhere safe, okay?" His voice was trying for calm and soothing, but there was still that tremor of panic laced into his voice no matter what he tried. He pulled away slightly and positioned himself so that he could help Shannon stand. "On your feet now, nice and easy."
Glancing over at Matheus, Eli frowned and his voice changed from calm and soothing to angry and commanding. Pointing at him, he then pointed at the couch. "You, sit on the couch. Now. Deal with you later."
