At Shannon's reaction to the smack, Eli rubs his back to try and soothe him, his head turning so that he can speak to him. He doesn't like punishing his subs, but he knows that it helps when it's needed, especially with a beginner like Shannon who needed to be taught properly so that he didn't learn bad behavior. "It's okay now, punishment's over. I'm not angry with you," he said gently, making sure he knew that once the punishment was given, he wouldn't be disappointed by that mistake from then on.
