Shannon was anxious. Not in a bad way, but the anticipatory way that everyone got when something new and exciting was going up and there was no way it could go badly, but predicting the end outcome was almost impossible. It was a great feeling, but one that left Shannon feeling like a teen heading out to prom instead of a grown man getting ready to have fun with his boyfriend and potentially make some hilariously heartfelt gestures to express his trust in Eli. That was probably something he didn't do enough in general, actually.

Breakfast had been something simple. Pancakes, fresh cut fruit and sausage. Eli had come over pretty early to get ready, talking over the generalities of what they were going to do while the specifics were to wait for after they were done. Well, now they were done and sitting on the couch, and Shannon's leg was jiggling even under the hand he had placed on his knee to keep himself still. Lacey had wandered off after breakfast, stomach filled with her own food and presumably was napping on the foot of the bed in Shannon's room. Probably for the better, really.

"So," he said, ignoring the obvious tell he was giving off. If Eli took it for misapprehension, then Shannon was going to definitely lean over and smack him. "Where do we start?"

Batting back at the foot, Shannon grinned. Playfulness was always good and encouraged, and there was nothing to say he couldn't play back even when they were soon to start a scene. Where would the fun in all of that be, anyway? He reached for Eli's waist, simply letting his hands rest there for a moment before he worked at the button and zipper, then slid his hands back to Eli's sides and worked his fingers underneath the clothing at his hips, pulling it down.

"Shouldn't have expected any less." He tilted his head, a mischievous and curious look on his face. Whatever Eli had planned, he couldn't begin to imagine; in this case, however, it was to be anticipated rather than worried over. "You just like catching me off guard, admit it."

At Shannon's response to his poking, Eli couldn't help but grin. He liked the playfulness, whether in the scene or not and Eli was not going to disallow it if Shannon enjoyed it. Once Shannon started on his pants, he reached down to help him pull them down, hands brushing against his momentarily as he did. Even now, he still wanted to touch him and pull him close, though he dissuaded himself from the latter. At least until he was clothed once more.

"I plead the Fifth," he responded with a grin, his voice mischievous in response to Shannon's expression. Eli said he wasn't going to share and he definitely wasn't until it was happening. "You'll like it though, I promise."

Now that the first part was done, Shannon moved to the pile that Eli had indicated. It was obvious which one would be Eli's dress and which would be Shannon's, even though he let his fingers brush over the lines of the harness before he moved on to the leather of Eli's getup. He selected the pants first, intending to go backwards from where he started. He knelt down again to prod Eli into stepping through the legs.

"Not doubting that," he said easily. "But give me a mystery and I'm gonna want to solve it. You know that."

There was definitely a smile on his face when he noticed Shannon touching his harness for a brief moment. The more he felt comfortable with it, the better things would go for him during the scene. Placing his hands on Shannon's shoulders, Eli stepped into the legs of the pants, his left hand shaking slightly as usual when it tried to help hold his weight.

"I know that and I'll keep you from finding out before I want you to," he responded with amusement. "You know that as well."

It was easy from there, Shannon bringing the pants up Eli's legs as he had before and bracing his hips to let him slowly fall into them. This whole process would be easier if the pants were looser, but the fact that they were so tight was a bit alluring in and of itself, so Shannon could live with that.

"Doesn't mean I can't try," he said. Not that there would be too much trying once he was in the right zone, but there would definitely be the remaining curiosity left over.

Once his pants were pulled up, he reached down and zipped them up since he didn't even want him to try that any time soon. Done with that, he then put his arms around Shannon's shoulders and moved in to give him a quick kiss.

"I like it when you try," Eli said. He liked when Shannon was curious during a scene and trying to poke around to find out what was going to happen to him. It made things more fun and kept Eli on his toes to keep things a secret from him.

Shannon grinned against the kiss, not making any move to fight it but ducking away once it was over to grab the next piece of the outfit: the shoes. These were going to take him a minute, and he was definitely looking forward to getting them all in place. It wasn't saving the best for last, but buckling up the shoes always helped set him down that much further.

He hummed softly at the statement. It was good to know that Eli didn't consider his curiosity a bad thing in scenes, and he planned to indulge in it more in the safe space they were about to create. Something slower pace was going to give him more time to indulge.

Eli sat back down on the bed once Shannon moved, waiting to see what he'd grab next. He wasn't all that surprised by the boots and merely grinned, knowing how much Shannon seemed to enjoy putting them on and lacing them up. It was why he used them in all their scenes and why he added the jacket alongside it, so Shannon could get lost in the buckling and putting everything together.

"I'll take that to mean you're glad that I do," he said as he leaned back a little on the bed, arms propping him up while he looked at his boyfriend. Of course he'd be okay with it and he'd encourage it if Shannon ever thought otherwise.

His hands fell into a rhythm, lacing and tightening and feeling his way up Eli's boot as he worked on each one individually. It helped him focus, going one step at a time while they talked and simply sat in each others' presence. Being in the familiar space with the familiar scents all helped him slowly let his walls down.

"Of course," he said with a faint tinge of amusement. "Something simple... Don't tell me we're going to play cards?"

There was a long moment before Eli could say anything in response to his question. It was definitely not something that he had though of and it had caught him off guard immensely. Shannon was definitely good at knocking Eli's mind off track and he had to shake his head to pull himself together.

"Cards wasn't what I was thinking of," he responded with a chuckle. Eli ten reach over and ruffled his hair affectionately for a moment. "You know I'm not going to tell you when you ask."

It was mostly a joke, as playing cards were supremely unusable to Shannon unless specifically made to be played with by the blind along with the sighted. He'd played with them a few times over his life, but it wasn't his sort of game. Then again, it was definitely something calm to do in order to pass the time.

Shannon chuckled, head pressing up into the ruffle before he ducked it and focused on the shoes. Those finished, he moved on to the next piece: the shirt, and stood to arrange Eli's arms in order to place it over his head. "Of course not. I'm using process of elimination."

Cards were something Eli knew Shannon wasn't interested in, which is why the mention of them completely caught Eli off guard. Now that Shannon was explaining a small bit, he was back on track and able to deal with him properly. Not to mention, he was able to follow Shannon's arrangement of his arms, moving them where his boyfriend wanted them for when he put the shirt on.

"There are quite of few things you could eliminate that are definitely out of the realm of possibility: charades, Scrabble, pictionary, Guess Who." Eli was just being a smartass now and trying to distract him from poking his nose this early into the game. "I could go on, if you'd like."

"Oh, please do," Shannon encouraged airily. With Eli's arms up and in position, Shannon easily slipped the shirt down over his head, down his sides, hands ghosting against his skin through the leather. He dipped enough to kiss Eli on the forehead, holding his position for a moment before he quietly turned back to the pile and found the next piece.

While he got that, he added, "Though you could probably skip the more obvious exclusions." As he spoke, his voice had become quieter and a bit more even. Just the simple act of getting them ready, of serving in such a way, was helping him slip into the proper mindset.

"Twister, Connect Four, the list goes on," Eli continued with a smile. There was a slight shudder when he felt Shannon's hands go down his sides and he was distracted for a moment by the sensation. Once that was done, Eli reached out to put his hands on Shannon's waist and pull him closer.

It was instinctive that while Shannon was getting into the proper mindset, so was Eli. He picked up on the vocal changes and responded differently than he would have normally. "I think you want to word that a different way, don't you?" His tone had that hint of control and superiority that was common to Eli's voice when he was Domming. "We're just starting. Your curiosity can wait."

There was a pause, Shannon slowly stilling as the tone sunk in. With Eli's hands on his waist, he refrained from reaching for the next piece of the outfit. Although he was still relatively new to the whole Dominant/submissive thing, the voice that Eli used commanded attention in the words and promised safety in between the lines. He gave a slight hum in acknowledgement, head tipping down and to the side.

"You said you liked it when I tried," he noted. Perhaps that wouldn't extend to playing around so much, but they were close to one and the same for Shannon. His playfulness mixed into everything when he was interested.

Seeing Shannon still at his words, Eli stood up and moved one of his hands up and curled it around the side of his neck gently to stroke his neck with his thumb. He wanted him to fall into the right mindset as gently as possible and was doing his best to facilitate that.

"I want you to be patient and draw it out," he responded gently as he leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. He does like Shannon's playfulness and wouldn't want it to go away no matter what, but he knew he could draw this out so that it wasn't just something that happened in the beginning and disappeared partway through. "I want you to be like this the entire time once we're done getting changed."

With the attention on his neck, Shannon's eyelashes fluttered and he let himself take a deep breath. Going where he was in his own mind brought a sort of echoed unease, remnants of what had happened the time before. His mind fought against it and he merely smiled at the press of lips to his cheek. He moved, then, to retrieve the jacket and start sorting out front from back, side from side, and brought it to drape around Eli's shoulders.

"I get to talk this time?" he asked. It had been half for half thus far, and he felt it was a legitimate question. Rules with them tended to be followed, but not always the most well-outlined. "You underestimate how long my curiosity lasts."

When the jacket was draped on his shoulders, he took a moment to put his arms into the sleeves and put it on fully, not moving it buckle it up. That was Shannon's job and he wasn't going to take it from him. Once his hands were no longer busy, they went back into place, resting gently on his waist and neck, knowing that the contact would help pull him down more.

"You'll get to talk this time. Unless I state otherwise, you are allowed to speak," answered Eli with amusement. They had been back and forth on the subject before, but he really need to put it down this time. Eli wanted him to talk and make sure that Shannon knew it. "That's not the problem. I'm making sure that I can tolerate it so that I don't have to gag you."

It helped, acted like a grounding agent when his mind began to drift. Although he was still floating at sea, it told him which direction was home; his lighthouse guiding him back to safe harbor. He gave a slight nod, following Eli's movements up until his hands were back in place before feeling it out for himself. He started the buckles from the top this time, intending to work his way down until he was back on his knees.

No matter how many times Eli put it across, Shannon would always need that one stated. His ability to speak or lack thereof was important to putting him in different spaces that would achieve the same goal in the end, and also influence his reactions and reception to his Dom. It textured the scene completely different depending on how Eli wanted it to be done. "Gag me?" he repeated, obviously incredulous. Obviously his speech wasn't a matter of toleration rather than Eli's mood at the time, so obviously the idea of forcing him quiet hadn't entered his mind.

Touch was an especially important sense for a blind man and thanks to his powers, Eli could manipulate it any way he wanted to. Even without using his powers, Eli could still manipulate with touch, gentle and soothing hands on Shannon to keep him calm even while their topic skewed towards something very much not.

The hand from Shannon's waist moved up and gently covered his mouth, not doing anything to stop his talking, but it was definitely an obvious warning. He could stop him from talking if he wanted to, but he wasn't going to because he was allowing it. "Yes, that's what I said. I don't think it'll be brought up this time since things are going to be pretty light on everything today." His tone was light even though it still held its commanding presence.

Shannon let his brows draw together at the hand over his lips. It was taken as the warning it was intended to be, something to be wary of without totally letting it scare him off. He would have to act in moderation; otherwise, he wouldn't be allowed to act at all. Well, wouldn't be able to speak, at any rate.

His hands had not stopped from working on the jacket and he was very near to the bottom now, fingers tracing the contours of each buckle as he went. Despite the hand over his mouth, or more likely because of it, he asked, "So... tone down the enthusiasm?"

It wasn't until Shannon finished speaking that Eli stopped covering his mouth, his thumb moving to trace his lips in a slow and measured manner. A warning and then affection, something that showed that he was careful before he responded. They weren't ready to start yet, otherwise Eli would be doing more than just this.

"Until I say otherwise, yes. There's no reason to expend your energy on your curiosity in the beginning. I want this to last for quite a while." It might not expend energy like everything else did with Shannon, but Eli wasn't about to find out. He was making up for the mess last time and wanted to make sure he'd stay away through it.

Shannon finished the last buckle and sat back on his heels. That was the last of Eli's outfit as far as he had been able to tell, and now it was truly Eli's turn to direct how they would proceed. Although Shannon had yet to fully give away his control, he was handing over the key here and now. As the thumb brushed his lips, he pursed them just lightly enough to dot a light kiss on the pad.

"Long session today," he mused. There was obvious curiosity laced into the statement, but he had managed to tone himself down easily enough. Shannon had no way to truly stop his curiosity from spilling over in some manner, but pushing it into a lower intensity was something he could do easily. Especially since it was Eli asking him to do it.

"Long and gentle," he said, reaching over to stroke his neck softly. The moment Shannon was done with the jacket, Eli tapped his shoulder to make him keep his focus on him. "Now it's my turn. Sit on the edge of the bed so I can start."

While he waited for him to do that, Eli picked up his collar and played with it for a moment, the ring making a dull thud against the leather. He couldn't wait to get this on him alongside the harness, though first, undressing him was on his mind. Eli started with his top, removing everything until his chest was exposed.

There was a light smile to the assurance, then Shannon moved easily. He sat down and waited for Eli to begin, moving as necessary to not get in the way of however Eli chose to proceed. Having his shirt off didn't bother him, but the idea of being in nothing but the harness was somewhat daunting.

His head tilted at the sound of Eli playing with his collar, brows raising somewhat expectantly. "Long, gentle, and just us?" he asked, rather than ask after what Eli was doing or thinking right then and there.
