For a moment, Cole couldn't understand what was going on. The feeling of regret he got from Chris confused him and then Chris pulled away confirmed things. He was leaving. His summoner was leaving him. The assurances that it wasn't his fault did nothing as instinct told him that this was his fault and that his summoner was leaving him because he couldn't find him all those years ago. This had to be his fault because there was no other reason why he would leave.

"No, no, no," he cried out as he watched Chris head back over to Leo, to the paladin that was taking his summoner away from him. Cole wrapped his arms around himself in a hug as if to hold himself together while his mind was falling apart. "Please don't leave me, not after we just found each other. I'll be a better summon for you, I promise. I'll do anything. Just don't leave."

But it wasn't enough and all Cole could do was watch as Chris and Leo left and when they were out of sight, Cole fell to his knees and screamed, an inhuman sound of anguish echoing all through his estate and loud enough to be heard even outside of it. The scream ended after a couple minutes and he collapsed on the floor completely, curling into a ball as he returned to his human state and started to cry. His summoner was gone and it was all his fault.
