It really helped that Doom had a completely different perspective on Misha's powers than she or even Reed does. He came at it realizing that it was similar to the Surfer's board instead of being like his own powers. Truth be told, he had no idea that it was actually going to work, but he figured that something was going to happen when he activated the emitter and used it on her.

"I already told you that I'm going to fix him," he grumbled as he placed ALFRED back down on the table carefully so that he could pick up Misha and carry her back to her cell.
