Eli didn't much of a chance to respond to what Shannon said when the other reporter arrived and tried to get into an argument with him over what had gone on in the alley. At the mention of Shannon being a civilian, Eli frowned and studied him carefully for a long moment. When not distracted, he was incredibly perceptive and could pick up on a number of things about a person, which meant that Eli nearly groaned when he realized that Shannon was blind and could definitely never be any sort of police officer. He was really distracted if he couldn't even notice that important tidbit.
His attention turned back to the conversation and by this point, Eli was very tempted to step in. He hated this kind of reporter, only trying to get an article that would put them in the spotlight. It disgusted him and he wanted nothing but to make this little man miserable, so he put on his best smile and checked that the illusion for his ears and tail were flawless before he decided to interrupt.
"'Reporter arrested for harassing police at crime scene' has a very nice ring to it, don't you think?" Eli once again sounded upbeat and rather happy, glancing over at Shannon before turning his attention back to Avery. "Though I think it's a bit of a stretch to call someone like you a reporter. Hear about a dead guy missing his wedding ring and you immediately think infidelity? Were there any keys found on the body, Mr. Vaughn?"
