Shannon couldn't help the quiet chuckle as Eli moved in closer and placed them so close together. To the outsider, such declarations would be worthy of worried looks and furtive whispers. It helped to know Eli so well, to trust him despite any hidden danger lurking underneath and to know that this possessiveness was only because Shannon allowed it. Shannon saw nothing wrong with it, as he had no intention of belonging to anyone else, anyway.
