WHAT Nearly a month after Abel rescues his amnesiac brother from the Clockless, Jacob finally visits Abel's home.Dæmons are a thing here.

It was a pretty big night. All day, Jacob had been fighting his flight instinct and trying to be excited about visiting Abel at his own house. It seemed like a big event, some kind of final and solid admittance that perhaps Jacob hadn't gone completely crazy and the two of them really were related, that everything had been real. Part of him still couldn't believe it. Jacob had a brother, one who had been around for thousands of years. One who had only dared reveal himself when Jacob had been under threat of possibly-endless experimentation. That still stung pretty hard despite the fact he had no one to blame about it but himself.
"You're thinking too loud," Lilith commented. She was rested atop his head, one long foot having slid off to the side and now stood on Jacob's ear as a support. "I'm curious what a dead man uses a house for."
"Raising a daughter, I guess," Jacob murmured. "And he still sleeps, so..."
Lilith laughed. "Why not do it comfortably?"
With a shrug, Jacob said nothing more. He reached out and started to knock on the door. Was there some kind of etiquette to showing up at your long-lost brother's house? A secret knock? Whatever, if there was, Abel should have said something when he'd invited them. They would make do with whatever faux pas they committed when it happened.
