Jacob sucked in a small breath at the slap. He slowly started blinking while the world came back into focus. It was like a fading dream, what had just happened, and he couldn't help the small tremble in his frame while he recovered from being forcibly ejected outside of his own consciousness. It took a moment for his concentration to return. When it did, he locked on to Abel, mouth moving silently until he could find his words.
